About AMP

AMP produces musical events, to enrich the Anacortes community and support our local musicians.

AMP oversees and produces the Anacortes Music Channel, an online streaming radio on the internet. AMC streams Anacortes-related music 24/7, promotes DJ skill development, and provides opportunity for local podcasting content and live streaming of events.

AMP conducts music classes/workshops/seminars for developing skills and broadening horizons of the musically curious. AMP grants scholarships for musical education to budding local musicians.

AMP promotes musical events, through Show Chime (free, in-print) and online event calendars.

AMP archives, documents, and records local musicians and events. AMP makes these archives available via our website.

AMP is committed to becoming an anti-racist organization. We realize that as a white-majority community we have directly benefited from the suppression of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), including Samish and Swinomish people of this land.

AMP is committed to engaging in our island community and beyond to listen and learn from voices other than our own. We are committed to confronting our history and learning ways of creating equity. We approach this work with humility and a willingness to be uncomfortable.

We hear the voices that are speaking out in this moment. As we continue to reach out to our musical community, we are committed to looking deeply, amplifying these voices, and finding ways to support BIPOC communities here where we are.
