Overture Strings Camp – rental instruments
Quist Strings in Bellingham will provide rental instrument kits for camp use for just $20. Indicate on the registration form which instrument you want to rent (violin, viola, or cello) and your child’s measurement. AMP will bring the instrument to the first day of class.
Violin or Viola
Have the student extend their left arm completely straight out from the shoulder (but not overextended) with no bend in the elbow or wrist and palm facing up. With a tape measure, measure the inches from the neck to the middle of the palm.

Have the student extend their fingers similar to holding up the number five. Make sure the student is not overextending their fingers and that they are evenly spread. Take your measurement from the tip of the index finger to the tip of the pinky.
