The Anacortes Music Project is thrilled to host our second poetry session. Join us on Sunday afternoons in a cozy, welcoming space where words are explored, ideas are shared, and creativity is encouraged.

Led by talented instuctor, Lyssa- this weekly workshop is designed for writers of all experience levels. Whether you’re brand new to poetry, returning to it after years away, or actively writing and looking to refine your voice, you’ll find inspiration and thoughtful conversation here. We’ll experiment with prompts, read and discuss work together, and gently workshop pieces in a supportive, community-centered environment.

Singer-songwriters are especially encouraged to join. This is a wonderful space to strengthen lyrical storytelling, sharpen imagery, and deepen emotional clarity in your writing.

Our session will conclude with a Poetry Showcase (date TBA), where participants will have the opportunity to share their work in a celebratory, low-pressure setting.

Anacortes based Ebb, Slack and Flood fills the room with chemistry that is obvious and addictive. The band is led by PNW native, Tom Savage, on guitar, harmonica, organ and vocals, raised on blues and jazz with influences like Freddie King, Django Reinhardt and The Meters. The band combines these influences with latin, reggae and even some hip hop to add the sizzle and the funk to a fusion of sound that’s make you want to get up and dance.

“From the initial bass line to the pounding drums, you instantly know the vibe of seeing and hearing Ebb Slack and Flood. Well thought out songs with consistent structure, solid vocals and a fun feeling that turns a rock show into a party.” – Scott Less, KISM Radio
