They began as a pop group with influences akin to B-52s or Velvet Underground and ended a purely instrumental act with no discernible genre. 66% Chick was a tightly knit group of three high school friends. Between them they shared visual art, gender bending predilections and a mutual love of creative outsiders. Their sole official release can be found on K records “Cha Cha Cabaret” compilation. Illegally download it, they won’t get paid if you buy it.

Our first show was with the K records curated “Cha Cha Cabaret” series of shows and subsequent release(s) which highlighted women in the NW indie music scene. It was at The Business’ 1717 Commercial Ave location, circa ‘96 Our best show was some years and a band break up later at the Anacortes community art/event space “How it works” circa ‘01
