About AMP
Anacortes Music Project is a volunteer-run, community-driven organization committed to the support and development of musicians of all ages. We cultivate opportunities for people to come together and be part of creating something greater than the sum of its parts. We sprouted out of a rich heritage of original music and a history of local music appreciation. We build on this legacy of the Anacortes music scene by fostering platforms that honor the original music we create together. We are inspired by the full spectrum of music and creative energy in Anacortes, and we welcome all ages and all walks of life to contribute to the musical culture of our town.
Our free publication, Show Chime, is our platform for music creatives and a way to draw the community into the work we’re doing. We create vibrant spaces to celebrate and amplify local, live music including AMPfest in the summers and Yule Bizarre in the winter. We provide summer music camps for kids, a free instrument-lending library, a streaming broadcast of ever-expanding Anacortes music, and more.
We want to give every opportunity to the youth and those musically curious to explore their wildest dreams. We will be there to crank up their tunes!
